1) To install Surado SCM Pro 4, you must be logged on to Windows as the "Administrator" user. First, install on the server.
2) In the "Single or Multi User Selection" window of the installer (as shown on page 1.5 of the User Guide), select the "Network Setup" option. In the next window, "Network - Setup Selection" (as shown on page 1.6 of the User Guide) select the "Server Setup" option.
3) After installation, remain logged on as Administrator, run SCM Pro for the first time, and register the product, either Online or Via Phone (as described on pages 1.8 - 1.12 of the User Guide). Close SCM Pro.
4) Before installing on individual workstations, make sure that SCM Pro is NOT running on the server. On each workstation that will be running SCM Pro, log on as Administrator and install.
5) In the "Single or Multi User Selection" window of the installer, select the "Network Setup" option. In the next window, "Network - Setup Selection," select the "Workstation Setup - LOCAL System Files" option. After installation, remain logged on as Administrator, and run SCM Pro for the first time. It will not be necessary to register again.
6) After SCM Pro has been run once and registered on the server, and run once on each workstation, you can log on to Windows as any user. You do NOT have to be an Administrator or have Power User rights to run SCM Pro subsequent times, unless you are using Palm Synchronization, in which case you must be logged on with a user who has at least Power User rights.
7) When installing and running the SCM Pro Fax Server software for the first time, it is also necessary to be logged on as Administrator. After installation, and running for the first time, it does not matter which user is logged on to the Fax Server. |
